Flight to Australia and first day in Sydney

"Down Under"
I made it to Australia with no problems!  The good-bye to the family was hard but calls, texting and emails have been nice to stay in touch often.

Business Class

The flight was 14 hours but with plenty of movies, sleep and food it went pretty quick.  You can see from the picture it was pretty comfortable.  It was hard to keep track of time on the flight, so I am not sure how much I really slept or not.  When they served dinner it was about midnight Colorado time.  I was sleeping at the time, the lady yelled to wake me up to get my tray ready, then she had to yell again to wake me back up when the food came (I was out of it).

Sydney Opera House

After we landed (I am with two other people from work) we got the rental car and head to the hotel.  The drive was interesting because it was my first time driving on the other side of the rode. It was crazy and kept turning on the wind shield wipers instead of the blinker.

Had to do a few things for work, then we walked around Sydney for awhile.  We checked out the Opera house, went across the Sydney Harbor bridge, sampled some food/beer and walked through a market.  Then crashed pretty hard at the hotel, the travel and time change finally caught up with me.

Most things seem normal, that is pretty much because the language is not different (which is so nice).  Today (Jan 3) was still a national holiday so downtown was very busy.  It seems that Sydney is all about shopping, there are so many stores and out-door malls.  Everything is pretty expensive as well.
